Terrance S. Jordheim, 82, of Fargo, N.D., died on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Eventide Sheyenne Crossings in West Fargo.
Terrance Stuart Jordheim was born on December 8, 1940 in Fargo, N.D. to Theodore and Clara (Eckre) Jordheim. He grew up on the family farm near Wyndmere and attended rural grade school in Garborg Township.
On August 18, 1963, he married Vera Dempsey at Grace Lutheran Church in Sisseton, S.D. From October, 1963-May, 1964, they lived at Fertile, MN, and then returned to the farm at Wyndmere and took over the farming operation after Terrance’s dad became ill.
He then moved his family to Rockford, IL to work at Borg Warner Rockford Clutch as a punch press operator from December, 1965-December, 1970 when his dad became ill with cancer and died. Terrance was the third generation to farm the land. His sons helped their dad farm during their time growing up years, helping with the grain and cattle operations. The fourth generation—his son Brian has now taken over the farm.
In August, 2021, Terrance suffered a fall in his home and has since then been living in West Fargo, most recently at Sheyenne Crossings, where he passed away.
He was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, rural Wyndmere. He liked to attend auction sales, the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion at Rollag, MN, taking in Medora Musicals, and Hostfest in Minot, N.D. He took his family on many camping trips.
Terry was self-taught in electrical work, fixing tractors, machinery, and always fixed his own vehicles.
Terry is survived by his wife, Vera, Fargo; sons, Kevin (Lisa) Jordheim, West Frankfort, IL, and Brian Jordheim, West Fargo; one granddaughter, Sierra Jordheim; and sisters, Corrine (Don) Anderson, West Fargo, Irene (Marlin) Buchholz, Medford, OR, Arlene (Don) Quam, West Fargo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Alvin & Cora Dempsey; brothers-in-law, Curtis, Gerald, Warren Dempsey; and several uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews.
No Services will be held.
Interment: Gol Aal Cemetery, Garborg Township, North Dakota.
