Teresa Radcliffe

Teresa (Terry) Joy Radcliffe was born May 3rd, 1949 in Fargo, ND and died December 19th 2024 surrounded by her three youngest children at St. Catherines South, Fargo ND.

Terry grew up near Grandin, ND, attended and graduated from Hunter High School and then North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND.  Terry married Gregory Radcliffe May 15, 1971 in Fargo, ND.  The couple farmed near Arthur, ND until Greg’s passing in 1992 and Terry remained on the farm until youngest son, Jeremy, graduated from Northern Cass High School in 2001. Terry worked outside of the home in Fargo, at Palliser Furniture and then USBank Service Center until she fell ill and went on disability in 2003.  

Terry was a long-time member of Arthur United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Homemakers Club, Dakota and Northern Cass Booster Clubs and most importantly a very active sports mom. She was often busy attending the many sporting and other extracurricular events for all five kids.

She will be remembered for her sheepish smirk and distinctive giggle. The Radcliffe house was often the ‘hang-out’ spot throughout the years as all of the kids got older, hosting many movie parties featuring her homemade ‘real’ buttered popcorn, chex mix, scotcharoo bars and Terry’s brownies.

Teresa (as she was known at Villa) spent her last 21 years at St. Catherine’s South (formerly Villa Maria) where she was well cared for and so loved, becoming the long-time favorite resident for many staff and care providers. She was a quiet resident but always could get a laugh from someone with her unexpected quips and imaginative stories. The family will be forever grateful to the Villa Maria Staff for providing love and care to Teresa.

Terry was not given an easy life but she never complained and managed to raise five beautiful children that have remained so close to each other despite distance.  A life’s gift that is priceless.  She is survived by her five children and 6 grandchildren, Nichol Radcliffe (Baker and Harlow O’Leary), Saco, ME; Monica Radcliffe (Ava and Morgan Skubic), Beaverton, OR; Mindy Radcliffe, West Fargo, ND; Trista (Brady) Backstrom (Bristol and Briggs), Argusville, ND, and Jeremy Radcliffe, Milnor, ND.

Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10 AM on Friday, December 27, 2024 at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, ND. She will be buried next to her husband at Herby Lutheran Church near Argusville, ND at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Red River Valley or Herby Lutheran Cemetery.
