Taif was born January 30, 1979, in Fargo, North Dakota the third and youngest child of Donald and Diane Trieglaff. He passed away peacefully at his Fargo residence November 13, 2022, as a result of lingering medical conditions.
Taif began life in Rollag, rural Hawley Minnesota, settling in Frazee with his family at age four where he would attend school and graduate with the class of 1998. Taif was defined by his can-do attitude and his sense of adventure. As a football defensive lineman, he was often outweighed by fifty pounds – no problem, Coach! As a varsity wrestler he was often inserted into the match as ‘shark meat’ – no problem, Coach! Taif spent summers with his great friend, Lucas Mistelske working at Java Moose in Grand Marais, Minnesota. He somehow talked a production crew in Tahiti into helping produce a commercial for a resort, or working for the California State Park Dept., and traveling the United States while building skateboarding parks with TrueRide. He later went on to work as an Operations Lead and Supervisor at Swanson Health Products for over sixteen years. No challenge or situation ever seemed to stand in his way when it came to trying something new.
In 2007, Taif married Deanne Sluke in Las Vegas. Together they built a family in West Fargo and welcomed Jolynn in 2009. Taif loved every minute with his daughter. He enjoyed coaching Jolynn’s soccer team and taught her to be tough on the basketball court. As a family they traveled many states exploring nature and frequented many Fargo Force hockey games.
Taif had a passion for Minnesota sports and especially loved cheering for the Vikings and Twins.
Taif is survived by his daughter; Jolynn, parents; Donald and Diane Trieglaff, sisters; Danielle (Scott) Link and Jamon (Matt) Friendshuh, former wife; Deanne Sluke, nieces and nephews; Forrest and Dylan Link, Ahzriel and Zariah Wouters, and Michael and Bethany Friendshuh. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Ralph and Melvina Trieglaff, Delos and Ione Atkinson, Gladys Atkinson, and Nels and Marilyn Thompson, and a niece; Zoe Wouters.
