Susan Audrey Jenson

Susan (Sprecher) Jenson, age 86, of West Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully at Bethany Retirement Living on University, in Fargo, ND, on Sunday, May 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Susan was born on March 7, 1939, in Fargo, ND, to Dell and Alice (Grommesh) Sprecher and lived in Casselton, ND, until she was five. In 1944, her family moved to West Fargo, ND, where she lived until 2018, when she moved to Bethany Retirement Living where she lived until she passed away.

She attended all her school years in West Fargo, graduating in 1957. She then went on to Gale Institute Airline School in Minneapolis, MN, graduating after only four months. Over the years, between 1959 and 1990, she worked at different livestock firms at the stockyards in West Fargo. She also worked for Warren Anderson, CPA, for two years and in 1992, went to work for MeritCare Clinic for 17 years, retiring in 2009. She then went to work part-time for Wal-Mart, first in the deli and then in the bakery until retiring in 2012. In 2014, Susan began working part-time at Costco.

In November 1958, she married Rudolph Jenson, and they had three children. They divorced in 1979. After the divorce, Susan became involved with Parents Without Partners and was President for three consecutive years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary of West Fargo. She was also involved with the Red River Singles of Fargo and was on the board for many years. She was involved with Beginning Experience of Fargo for many years.

Susan enjoyed roller skating, bowling, playing cards, dancing and spending time with family and friends.

She will be sadly missed but will be in our hearts forever.

Susan is survived by her children, Gerald Jenson, Alice (Mark) Walz, Jody Fitzsimmons, son-in-law, Ted Fitzsimmons; 6 grandchildren, Anthony (Allie) Walz, Nicholas (Crystal) Walz, Jared (Carrie) Walz, Treyton (Fiancé, Amanda) Fitzsimmons, Taylor (Kale) Ohlhauser, and Tara (Fiancé, Payton) Fitzsimmons, and 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Prudy (Jim) Runck, Marcella (Ty) Dahl and Geraldine (Don) Krabbenhoft; and brother, Gregory (Carol) Sprecher.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 1:00pm at West Funeral Home in West Fargo, ND. Visitation with the family will be held 1 hour prior to services.

Burial: St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery, Casselton, ND.
