Susan Brinklow

   Susan Lorene Crowe Brinklow, age 77, of West Fargo, ND, died on Friday, August 21, 2026 under the care of Hearts in Action.

   Susan was born on December 11, 1948 to Raymond Herbert and Rose Mae (Davenport) Crowe in Valley City, ND. She was number 12 of the 13 children born to Raymond and Rose!

   Susan met Roger Lynn Brinklow while he was enlisted in the Air Force and stationed in Grand Forks, ND. Roger and Susan were married on May 22, 1970 in Aberdeen, SD. Roger and Susan lived in Omaha, NE; Burlington, ND; Wahpeton, ND; and Battle Lake, MN; but they spent most of their years together in West Fargo, ND. In 2004, following a major heart attack, Roger had open heart surgery. His surgeon said he could only guarantee Roger about 7 years, to which Susan replied, “He needs at least 17! We need to celebrate 50 years!” Jesus fulfilled Susan’s desire; Roger and Susan celebrated over 53 years together before Roger’s passing in 2023.

   Roger and Susan loved children! They opened their hearts and home to their four chosen and adopted children: Earl, Dale, Jennifer, and Jamie. They also had the opportunity to love and care for their grandson, Eric. Over the years, many children, including Arizona and Analie, were spoiled by “Uncle Roger” and “Aunt Susan”.

   In 1981, while living in Wahpeton, ND, Roger and Susan had an Acts 2:38 life-changing experience with Jesus. Their relationship with Jesus became the center of their lives. In 1990, they followed their beloved pastor Michael Miller and his wife Rachelle, and their three children from Wahpeton to West Fargo and were members of Changing Lives Tabernacle in West Fargo. Their Church family loved them, and all the kids knew that they were the ones to go to for a treat!

   Susan found joy in sharing with others. A talented seamstress, she poured hours of love into each of the beautiful creations she made. Her specialty was making fancy dresses for little girls with a matching outfit for their baby doll. She also had an eye to score amazing deals at garage sales. Many of her friends and family benefited from the special treasures she found for pennies on the dollar.

   Susan’s greatest gift was her gentle, loving care and compassion for the most vulnerable. Among her favorites was one little boy, James Miller, of West Fargo, ND for whom she provided care and an assortment of fun, handmade bibs. James passed on August 28, 2025.

   Susan is survived by her four children, Earl, Dale, Jennifer, and Jamie; two grandsons, Eric and Travis; a great-granddaughter, Avery; her beloved big brother, Bruce (Joyce) Crowe of Alexandria, MN, and many nieces and nephews. Thank you to Susan’s sister-in-law, Mary and neighbor and friend Pat, who were always willing to lend Susan a helping hand.

   Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Brinklow, and her siblings, Robert, Janet, Raymond, Charles, Lawrence, Joel, Kathleen, Charlotte, Judy, Michael and Margaret.

   Not one for attention, Susan requested that no funeral be held in her honor. The family and friends will have a private time of sharing.
