Sharon Thompson

   Sharon Marie Thompson, 77, West Fargo, ND passed away due to pneumonia on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND surrounded by her loved ones.

   Sharon Marie McDonnell was born on April 28, 1943 in Alexandria, MN to Cleon and Mary McDonnell.  Cleon was killed in action during WWII after which Mary married Raymond McDonnell who raised and loved Sharon as his own in Montrose, SD.  Sharon married Lyle Thompson on December 29, 1962.  They lived their lives mostly in West Fargo, ND where Sharon and Lyle raised their 2 children Shane and Melissa.

   Sharon loved her family.  She loved helping people in any way she could.  She had a passion for life and always lived hers honestly and to the fullest.  She spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren and loved being at their lake home.  She also enjoyed traveling and visiting with friends and family.

   Sharon is survived by her husband Lyle, two children Shane (Malissa) Thompson, Melissa (Brent) Quern; four grandchildren Riley and Brooks Thompson and Dylan and Lilly Quern; sister Dawn (Jim) Lynch; four brothers Randolph, Richard, Ronald, and Robert (Brenda) McDonnell.  She was preceded in death by her parents Cleon McDonnell, and Ray and Mary McDonnell.

  The family will have a lakeside celebration in her honor.
