Sharon Otto Obituary

Sharon F. Otto, 75, Fargo, ND, formerly of Arthur and Erie, ND passed away May 09, 2020 at Rosewood on Broadway.

Sharon Faye Kleinsasser was born August 17, 1944 to Paul A. and Viola J. (Gross) Kleinsasser near Chaseley, ND. The family moved to Bowdon, ND in 1953.  Sharon attended school at Bowdon, ND graduating in 1962. After graduation, she worked for a time at the local grocery store.  On June 20, 1965, she married John H. Otto in the Bowdon Church of God. The family lived in the Tappen, Bowdon and Chaseley area for a few years, before moving to Arthur, ND in 1975.  In 1977 they moved to Erie, ND.  In 1983 they moved, for a short time, to Georgetown, MN before moving back to Erie that same year.

Sharon was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Arthur until moving to Fargo in 2018. She loved to sing and was an active member of the church choir in addition to singing many solos during church services. Sharon loved puzzles, reading, watching movies, and her favorite TV shows. She also loved to play cards and board games with her family. On a couple of occasions, her kids were able to persuade her to play Croquet and Ladderball.

Sharon is survived by five children, Guy, Denise, Mary, Paul and Joan; four grandsons, Kruse, Tyler, Cooper and Willie; three sisters, Iris (Johnnie) Holler, Joyce (Kleinsasser) Smith and Brenda Kleinsasser; a brother-in-law, Richard Otto, three sisters-in-law, Leona (Otto) Magnuson, Phyllis (Otto) Heibert and Luella Otto as well as many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband John; a granddaughter, Ember Rayne; her parents, Paul A. and Viola; a sister Beverly (Kleinsasser) Wittman; and son-in law Charles Franks.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Rosewood on Broadway for their courteous and thoughtful care of Sharon.  An additional thank you to Hospice of the Red River Valley for their role in caring for Sharon.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
