Shane Walock

   Shane Walock, 66, of Horace, ND, died on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at home.

   Shane was born on August 18, 1957 to Bryce and Marlyn Walock in Moorhead, MN.  He was raised in Horace, where he graduated from West Fargo High School in 1975.

    He spent his whole life working as a painter and formed a painting business with his father. On April 17, 1982, he married Rhonda Watson in Horace Lutheran Church. They became the parents of Chad, born in 1983, and Ben, born in 1988. Shane served the community in many facets including on the Horace City Council, Sheyenne Water Board, Horace Fire Department Board, and mayor of Horace.

      Shane enjoyed time spent at the lake, fishing, hunting, dancing, campfires, yard games, making sausage and meats, time spent with friends and family, cooking Sunday dinners, and playing card & dice games. His greatest passion was his family and Rhonda, the love of his life.

   Shane is survived by his two sons, Chad (Erin) Walock, Fargo, and Ben (Amanda) Walock, Horace; three grandchildren, Michael, Rylee, and Luna; a sister, Sherri Horning; brother-in-law, Dewey Horning, Fargo, ND; and his mother-in-law, Jeanne Watson, Fargo.

   He was preceded in death by his wife; Rhonda; dad, Bryce; and mother, Marlyn.

Visitation: Friday, August 16, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Horace Lutheran Church, Horace, ND.

Prayer Service: Friday, August 16, 2024 at 7:00 PM at Horace Lutheran Church, Horace, ND.

Memorial Service: Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Horace Lutheran Church, Horace, ND with visitation one hour prior.

Interment: Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Horace Lutheran Cemetery following the funeral.
