Scott Allen Zieske, 60, of Arthur, North Dakota, passed away May 3, 2026, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
Scott was born April 23, 1966 in Moorhead, Minnesota to Daniel and Bonnie Zieske. He grew up in Arthur, where he attended school and graduated from Dakota High School in 1984. During his school years, he met his wife, Jodi Lako and they married October 11, 1986. Together, they built a life in Arthur and raised their three children.
Scott had a deep passion for both farming and sports. He dedicated 15 years to coaching basketball at various levels, sharing his knowledge, encouragement, and love of the game with countless young athletes. In 1990, he began his farming career working with Dale Lincoln. He later joined Hejl Farms, where he worked for the past 30 years. During that time, Scott also pursued his own venture, establishing Zieske Farms. Farming was more than a job to Scott—it was his way of life. He was happiest in a tractor, and if he wasn’t behind the wheel, he was out checking the fields, always counting down the days until he could return to doing what he loved most.
Scott cherished time with his family and friends and was always ready for a good time. He rarely missed his children’s activities and took great pride in supporting them through the years. His grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he was incredibly proud of each of them. Away from the farm, Scott enjoyed watching Sioux hockey, attending races, going to book club in Casselton, spending time cutting wood with his close family, and being an avid volunteer firefighter for 35 years with the Arthur Volunteer Fire Department.
Scott will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of family, and the joy he found in the simple things—especially life on the farm. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children Casey (Alyssa) Zieske, Brandi (Scott) Mounts, and Alexis (Travis) Shock; Mother Bonnie Zieske; Sister Jody Zieske (Paul White), Sister Beth (Rick) Melander, and Brother Daryl (Bethany) Zieske; Grandchildren Gage Tommerdahl, Elizabeth and Landon Zieske, Kylee, Ryker, and Pyper Mounts, and Gentrie Shock; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Daniel Zieske, grandparents Lorraine (Don) Collins, and Leeland Bensen, and George and Ella Zieske.
