Sandra Mae Olson, 71, Amenia, ND passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.
Sandra Mae Henderson was born on February 21, 1949 in Fargo, ND to Jerry and Evelyn (Bullis) Henderson. She attended school in Fargo. In 1966 she married Gene Roquette. She raised the couple’s children while attending college at Moorhead State and Mayville State for some time. In 1984 they divorced. On May 7, 1988 Sandi married Michael Olson at Bethleham Church in Fargo. She briefly worked at US Bank as a customer service and authorizations representative. In May of 1999 they moved to there current farm. Sandi stayed at home to raise their children as well until 2000 when she went to work as a cashier at Cenex; retiring in 2007.
Sandi loved being on the farm and was known as a “home body” where she was able to be creative with her arts and crafts. She loved to paint, draw, and raise and arrange flowers. She also had a couple different businesses on the farm. Her first business starting in 2000 until 2004 was called Golden Eye Pheasant Farm, where she raised ducks, chickens, geese, and ring neck pheasants. In 2008 she started Evergreen Bait, where she sold fishing supplies and bait until she closed in 2013.
Sandi is survived by her husband Michael Olson, of Amenia, ND, daughters: Teresa Fassino, of Gardner, ND, and Crystal Hughes, of Moorhead, MN, sons: Troy Roquette, of Seeley Lake, MT, Jeremy Roquette, of Missoula, MT, Christopher Olson, of Casselton, ND, and Anthony Olson, of Lake Park, MN, along with 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Sheila (Doug) Sinclair, of Gardner, ND, and Suzy (James) Pinkney, of Napoleon, ND.
Sandi was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Gerald and Michael Henderson.
Visitation: Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 9 until 10 AM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
