Ronnie Searcy

Ronnie C. Searcy, 71, of Fargo, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Essentia Health in Fargo.

Ronnie Charles Searcy was born September 9, 1951, in Bakersfield, CA, son of Alfred and Anna Jo (Venable) Searcy. He attended school in Bakersfield and later earned his GED. Ronnie worked various jobs prior to entering the US Army on February 13, 1970, and served a tour in Vietnam. Following discharge on April 4, 1972, Ronnie returned to Bakersfield. He moved to Bismarck in April of 1972 and married Julie Kelle, on September 29, 1972. He was employed in construction, carpentry, and in maintenance at the Kirkwood Mall in Bismarck. Ronnie attended BJC in Bismarck and graduated with a welding certificate on July, 24 1992. The family then moved to Fargo where Ronnie was employed as a mechanic at Johnson’s Trailer and later at Industrial Builders. He then began a career in truck driving lasting over 20 years until health forced his retirement in 2017.

He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar and singing, mobile games, watching golf and also anything to do with Star Wars or Marvel movies.

Ronnie is survived by his wife: Julie; children: Jennifer Searcy, Jim Searcy and Caitlin Searcy all of Fargo; sisters: Shirley Searcy of Bakersfield, CA, Diana Searcy of Bakersfield, CA and Pam Ebert of Bakersfield; a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Karen Sweeney and his mother and father-in-law: Marvin and Viola Kelle.

Memorial Service:  1 pm Monday, May 8, 2023, at West Funeral Home in West Fargo.

Visitation:  An hour before the service.

Interment:  Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND
