Roger Schreiner, 74, West Fargo, N.D., died Friday, December 31, 2021 at Bethany on University Drive in Fargo, N.D.
Roger E. Schreiner, son of Victor “Red” and Maxine (Beggs) Schreiner, was born at St. Ansgar Hospital in Moorhead, Minn., on January 24, 1947. He grew up in Moorhead and attended school at St. Francis de Sales grade school, North Junior High School, and graduated from Moorhead Senior High School with the 1964 class.
He joined the N.D. Air National Guard, out of Fargo, N.D. in January, 1966, and was honorably discharged in 1982 as a Staff Sergeant.
Roger was united in marriage to a high school classmate, Sharon A. Richardson on February 11, 1967, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moorhead.
Roger held various jobs during his lifetime, but his favorites were Burlington Northern Railroad, where he was a brakeman/switchman, Fargo Glass and Paint as a glazer, Concord Manufacturing and Case-I.H. as a machinist.
He loved spending time with family/friends, country music, old westerns on T.V., NASCAR races, hunting, fishing, playing cards, and breakfast at Deaner’s Diner in West Fargo.
Roger is survived by his wife, Sharon, of 50 plus years; his daughter, Shelly Schreiner Peterson, West Fargo, N.D.; and son, Mike (Melissa), Velva, N.D.; three grandsons, Hunter, Austin, and Tommy; his brother, Wayne (Sue), Las Vegas, NV; and his mother-in-law, Maxine Richardson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a younger brother, Darrel; and his father-in-law, Chuck Richardson.
Service: Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, with visitation one hour prior to the service, and a lunch to follow.
Interment: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead, MN, at a later date.
