Robert "Bob" Possen

Robert “Bob” Richard Possen was born November 29th, 1949, in Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake ND. He was born to Richard and Ruth Possen. On December 16th, 2025, he went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

As a young boy he and his brother Jim spent their summers on the farm with their grandma Lilly Possen and uncle Albert Possen. As a junior in High School, he stayed on the farm and graduated from Warwick High School. Farming memories were treasured his entire life.

He was drafted into the Army in 1970, a veteran of the Vietnam War conflict – Korea, and was honorably discharged in 1972. His fondest memories during service were supporting a local orphanage by taking children to the USO Christmas events and helping locals start a chicken farm. Bob was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post #3696 in Sheyenne ND.

On October 19th, 1978, Bob married Judy Ann Noyes (Sylling) in Sheyenne ND. Together with four children they lived on a dairy farm near Woodlake ND. It was at this farm, in the barn milkhouse, where Bob got on his knees and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior – Bob was literally, “Born-again in a Barn”. Fitting for a country boy who loved God’s creatures and creation. Moving a few times around ND they eventually settled in Fargo. Bob and Judy attended Bethel Church in Fargo making it their church family. Bob served in many ways but cherished the time he spent as a chaplain – serving and caring for others. His life verse was Exodus 14:14, “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Bob experienced God’s divine intervention of His power, faithfulness, and protection. He inspired others to experience God’s peace and salvation as he awaited December 16th.

Bob is survived by his children Mark Bray (Shannon) children Hannah (Dennis) & Jacob (Paige); Christie’s children Ciara, Loren (Susan), Chyan & Brayden; Scott Noyes (Donna) children Kaylee, Andrew (Alexandra) & Dawson; Tricia Noyes children Alex (Sabreena), Mercedes (Michael) & Hunter; Robert Noyes (Julie) children Austin (Jordan) & Lexus, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren. Sisters Judy Struksnes, Beatrice Reynolds, and Sandy Possen; and brothers Donald Possen and Dennis Possen. Preceded in death by his wife Judy Possen; daughter Christie Dickens and granddaughter Kenadi Dickens; his father & mother, Richard and Ruth Possen; brothers James Possen and Ronald Possen; nephews Richard Struksnes and Shane Wilhelmi; brother-in-law Harold Struksnes; and his uncle Albert Possen.

Visitation will be held at Bethel Church in Fargo, ND from 10 - 11 AM, with the memorial service starting at 11 AM on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Oberon, ND in the spring.
