Richard Stompro, 77, of Casselton, ND, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at his home.
Richard Neil Stompro was born on June 24, 1947 to Arnold & Gladys (Peters) Stompro. He grew up in Casselton ND and graduated in 1965 from Casselton High School where he played football.
He enlisted in the US Army in 1965, and was part of the Army Signal Corps and worked on repairing the radar used for artillery targeting. Upon completing his two years in the service, he lived in Colorado Springs, CO.
In 1974, he married Nancy Alm and they had two children, Jennifer and Joshua. After working at Cooperative Power Association as an Electronics Tech from 1977-1983 in Underwood, ND, they moved to West Fargo ND.
After their divorce, Richard lived with his aunt, Emily Thronson and his mom, Gladys, in Casselton. After Emily and Gladys passed away, he spent most of his time with his sister, June, who lived in Moorhead. His niece and nephews always included him in family events, and he got to watch their children grow up. He enjoyed watching the Vikings, working on crossword puzzles, and spending time with his grandsons.
He is survived by his daughter: Jennifer (Damian) Koshnick and his son: Joshua (Kathleen) Stompro; four grandsons, Logan, Luke, and Dylan Stompro, and Wyatt Koshnick; his niece, nephews, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, June Larson.
Family Service: will be held at a later date and his ashes will be interred in the Casselton Cemetery, Casselton, ND.
