Renae Kaye Beaton, 67, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Renae was born on January 31, 1958, to Everett and Harriet Olson. She grew up on the family farm near West Fargo, where she developed a deep love for horses and the land. From a young age, she worked alongside her father, driving the baler tractor and embracing the values of hard work and dedication. She attended West Fargo High School, graduating in 1976.
On June 9, 1978, Renae married Mark Beaton, and together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and a shared passion for horses. They raised two children, Kellie and Bryant, passing down their love of horses and horsemanship.
A lifelong horsewoman, Renae was deeply respected as a rider, trainer, and mentor. She competed in cutting and barrel racing and had a keen eye for developing young horses. She took immense pride in coaching her children as they learned to ride and compete. Even as she worked alongside her husband in their family business, her true passion remained with horses—training, riding, and sharing her knowledge with others up until her illness.
Renae was known for her kindness, her words of encouragement, and her radiant smile that could brighten any room. She touched the lives of many, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of wisdom.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace and home with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Renae is survived by her husband, Mark; daughter, Kellie; son, Bryant (Kayla) Beaton; granddaughter, Vivian Kaye; brothers, Duane (Kristi) Olson and Dan Olson; and her beloved dogs, Tuco and Arrow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Harriet Olson, sister Beverly and brother Denis.
An Open House will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 3 to 5 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
