Rebecca Burns

   Rebecca "Becky" Joyce Burns passed away in her home September 23, 2024 in Enderlin, ND. She was born in New Rockford, ND on February 11, 1959 to Harold and Joyce Boyer.

   She was the middle child of 3 and grew up traveling all over North Dakota with her family before settling in Deering, ND and finally Surrey, ND. She attended Surrey High School, graduating in 1976, one year ahead of her class. She was very smart and an avid reader. After graduation, she briefly lived in California and would tell stories of sleeping on the beach.

   When she returned to ND to be closer to her family, she met and then married Garry Burns in 1979. That same year they welcomed their first child, Jennifer, followed soon after by their two sons Bobby and Chad. Becky and Garry made homes in Minot and eventually Surrey. She loved her family fiercely. 

   She worked her entire life tending to the needs of others be it with children or the elderly. She loved music, crafting, and being creative. She was one hell of a cook/baker and would feed anyone whenever she could. When not in the kitchen or painting something, she could be found barefoot in the yard or in her garden with the love of her life, Garry, not far from her side. She was an extremely proud Mema to her 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was an amazing sister, daughter, friend, wife, mother, and grandmother and she leaves a big hole in our hearts. She is already missed dearly.

   She was preceded in death by her parents Joyce and Harold Boyer, Mother in law and Father in law Alice and Richard Johnson, brother in law Larry Burns, and sister in law Carol Boyer. 

   She is survived by her husband of 45 years Garry Burns and their three children, Jennifer (Russell) Landphere, Bobb (Emma G.) Burns, Chad (Emilie B.) Burns and grandchildren Oliver, Sullivan, Maverick, and Tavius Landphere, Eva (Dakota) Risovi, Kole Burns, Brynn, Camden, and Holden Burns and great grand child Rigsley Risovi. Her brother Greg (Char) Boyer and sister Faye (Clay) Burns and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and others. 

Visitation:  Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.

Funeral: Saturday September 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM at West Funeral Home, 321 Sheyenne Street, West Fargo, ND 58078 with family and friends gathering to follow.
