Peggy (Margaret) Irene Runck (Landscoot), 62, passed away on March 9, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones.
Peggy was born on November 22, 1957 in Grand Rapids, MN to Mary Lehe and Morris Landscoot. She grew up in Jamestown, ND graduating from Jamestown High in 1976. After graduating from high school, Peggy attended North Dakota State School of Science. After some time at NDSCS, Peggy returned back to Jamestown, ND and began working for the Stutsman County Sheriffs Office. At this time, Peggy married Jeff Wilhelm of Jamestown. They were later divorced.
In the spring of 1992, Peggy left Jamestown and made a home in Fargo, ND starting a new career at Games to Go. On May 11, 1992 she met a farmer by the name of Bob Runck from Casselton, ND at her place of employment. Peggy took Bob for a birthday lunch. After being treated to a meal, introduced to a beautiful personality, and a contagious smile Bob couldn’t help but continue the relationship. They dated and were later married on November 13, 1993. They began their lives together in Casselton, ND. Two years later, on April 4, 1995 they welcomed their first daughter Abby Lynn Runck. On March 10, 1999 they were blessed in completing their family by welcoming Erin Lehe Runck.
After sometime, Peggy left Games to Go and started working at the Sonshine Center in Casselton, ND. She took so much delight in raising her two daughters. Peggy loved bringing her girls to their events, enjoyed planning birthday parties and took pride in dressing them up. She took a hands on approach in being a wonderful mother and wife. As her girls got older, Peggy began turning dreams into a reality of opening her very own store. She opened ‘Peggy’s Heart and Soul’ in December of 2016. Peggy had a great passion for helping those around her. The store gave Peggy the ability to do that by selling oils, engaging in an abundance of conversation, and so much more. Though ‘Peggy’s Heart and Soul’ brought her an enormous amount of joy, her love for children still lingered. She began to help part-time for a long time friend at the Legacy Learning and Preschool Center in Casselton, ND.
Peggy was full of life and had the ability to impact the lives of those around her in such a positive way. She enjoyed hearty conversations and loud laughter. Peggy loved reading books, spending time at the lake, walking hand in hand with Bob in Florida and being surrounded by those she loved. She was strong-willed with a heart of gold, always willing to help anyone that needed a hand. Peggy had a great tenderness for children and touched the lives of many. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and those who had the chance to know her.
Peggy is survived by her husband Bob, and her two children; Abby and Erin Runck (Fargo, ND). Her four siblings, Lloyd (Bobbie) Landscoot, Jamestown, ND; Mike (Penny) Landscoot, Jamestown, ND; Tammy Gumke, Jamestown, ND and Randy Landscoot, Jamestown, ND; her mother-in-law, Cleone Runck, Fargo, ND; two sister-in-laws: Mary Nicholas, Fargo, ND and Chris Runck, Horace, ND, one brother-in-law, Dave Kooker, Medina, ND, and twenty-three nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister (Alice Kooker), father-in-law (Bob Runck Sr.) and brother-in-law (Steve Runck).
