Pauline Klinger

Pauline A. Steidl was born on April 1, 1922 on the family farm near Fingal, ND to Joseph and Theresia (Schlegel) Steidl. She grew up on the farm, attended school in Fingal and graduated from high school there. She worked a short time in Valley City, ND and for area farm wives before moving to Minneapolis, MN where she worked at Daytons and Sears Roebuck. Pauline married Dale C. Klinger on November 9, 1943 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fingal. They made their home near Oriska where they farmed for 50 years and raised eight children. They retired in 1991 and moved to West Fargo.

Pauline was a member of the Homemakers Club, Band Mothers, and Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she served as bookkeeper and was involved in the Christian Mothers. When they moved to West Fargo, they became members of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Dale and Pauline loved to dance and enjoyed annual trips throughout the United States. She was known to always be ready for company at the farm and enjoyed entertaining. She loved baking, canning, embroidery, puzzles and reading.

Surviving are her children:  Eugene (Donna) Klinger of Vermillion, SD,  Paulette (Michael) Stalborger of Dilworth, MN,  Marlene (David) Yanish of West Fargo, ND,  Renee Klinger of Cross Lake, MN,  Hal (Diane) Klinger of Valley City, ND,  Paul (Tamara) Klinger of Spokane, WA,  Pamela (Mark) Davis of Bloomington, MN and Kenneth Klinger of Valley, City, ND; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 5 Great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Dale Klinger; daughter-in-law:  Linda Klinger; grandson: Gabriel Klinger; siblings:  Bernard, Frank & John Steidl, Elizabeth Steidl, Florence Miller, Mathilda Kruger, Philip Steidl,  Marian Potter,  Lorraine Leitner, Paul,  Edmund and Ambrose Steidl.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10a.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in West Fargo, ND

Visitation: An hour before the Mass

Interment: Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Fingal, ND.
