Pam Gertz

   Pam Gertz, 65, of West Fargo, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, surrounded by family.

   Pamela Jean Erstad was born at St. John’s Hospital in Fargo, ND on February 15, 1959, to Clifford and Catherine (Thoemke) Erstad. She grew up in West Fargo, where she attended school and graduated from high school.

   Following high school, she attended Dakota Business College and worked at Norwest Bank.

   She married Craig Dirks and had children Katie and Stephanie. On January 19, 1990, she married Tom Gertz and had a son, Robert. They made their home in West Fargo and Pam worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Rediwheels/F-M Ambulance, and lastly, as a bus driver for West Fargo Public Schools.

   Pam enjoyed gardening and canning, and was a ‘neat freak’. She was a MN Vikings fan, loved classic rock and the Rolling Stones, enjoyed playing Gameshow Network online, watching Lifetime, time spent at Lake Ashtabula, and being the ‘treat lady’ for her grand-dogs. She adored her grandchildren and always made people feel welcome.

   She was a member of the West Fargo VFW Women’s Auxiliary, and Faith † Journey Lutheran Church in West Fargo.

   Pam is survived by her husband Tom; children, Katie (Dustin) Devereaux, Stephanie (Sam) Hoekstra, Robert (Amanda) Gertz; grandchildren, Jake & Alexa Devereaux, Isaiah Heath, and Dru Gilbertson; siblings, Mike Erstad, Jeannette (Jerry) Motes, Marie Prescott, and Virginia (Brian) Hanson; siblings-in-law, Larry (Steph) Gertz, Steve (Linda) Gertz, Sue Gertz, and Deb Olson; several aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews, and cousins; and her grand-dogs.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Erstad; her parents-in-law, Robert and Donna Gertz; and Grandma and Grandpa T.

   In lieu of traditional funeral attire, please wear your MN Vikings attire, or purple/gold to the prayer service and memorial service.

   Visitation: Monday, February 17, 2025, from 6:00-7:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., in West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

   Memorial Service: Tuesday, February 18, at 11:00 a.m., in Faith + Journey Lutheran Church, West Fargo, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

   Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, North Dakota.
