Nicholas "Nick" Kerbaugh Obituary

Nicholas “Nick” Kerbaugh, 40, West Fargo, ND, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026. Though he faced struggles that were not always visible to others, he will be remembered most for the life he lived, the relationships he built, and the memories he leaves behind.

Nick was born on April 18, 1986, in Englewood, Colorado to Joel and Angie Kerbaugh. At the age of one month, they moved to Easton, Massachusetts, where they would spend about two and a half years. After that they made their way back to the F/M area where they would eventually settle and create a home in Harwood, North Dakota.

Growing up Nick loved all sports which grew into a real love for baseball. Throughout his high school years, his happy place was on the field. He graduated from West Fargo High School in 2004. Following graduation, he started working for Thorsteinson Construction where he excelled at shingling and remained employed to present day. Nick had many talents including his crazy knowledge of music, movies and TV shows. He also always seemed to dominate at any and all board games. Along with his talents he found joy in so many things; the annual family vacations to Florida where riding roller coasters was the number one priority, the Green Bay Packers (who he was a very proud owner of) and all the games and trips to Lambeau, becoming a dad to a daughter, Maddy, on February 22, 2008, being a part of as many fantasy football leagues as he possibly could be and getting to go skydiving with a great friend, which had always been on his bucket list. In most recent years, you could typically find him on a softball field, playing his heart out.

Nick is survived by his daughter, Maddy Kerbaugh; parents, Joel and Angie Kerbaugh; sister, Ashley (Tucker) Skoblik; nephew and niece, Grady and Leni Skoblik; grandma, Ruth Kerbaugh; uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Evelyn Fritz; grandpa, Walter Kerbaugh; uncles, Jerry and Terry Kerbaugh; and Janice (Gary) Peterson.

***In honor of Nick, family would love all who attend the service to wear their softball jersey, anything Green Bay or any other item that makes them think of Nick.***
