Muriel Rieniets

   Muriel Rieniets, 105, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Eventide of Fargo.

   Muriel Lorraine Schur was born on October 13, 1919 in Arthur, ND, to Louis L. & Freida (Willert) Schur. She graduated from high school in Arthur in 1937 and attended NDSU.

   She married Edwin “Degg” Rieniets on December 2, 1940 at St. John Lutheran Church in Arthur. They lived in Hunter, ND, Arthur, ND and Barrett, MN before moving to Fargo in 1973. They also spent time at their lake place on Cormorant Lake and Mesa, Arizona during the winters.

   Muriel spent most of her time raising their family but also served as a substitute mail carrier in Arthur.   

   She was a member of St. John ALCW (Ladies Aid), the American Legion Auxiliary and the Homemaker’s Club.

   In recent years, Muriel lived at Edgewood Vista, and more recently, Eventide of Fargo.

   She is survived by her son, Bruce (Ruth Johnson) Rieniets, Fargo; 2 grandchildren, Lee (Michelle) Rieniets, Edinburg, TX, and Michelle (Andrew Dullea) Rieniets, Fargo; 4 great-grandchildren, Chace Hahn, CO, Ian Dullea, Fargo, Austin Rieniets, TX, and Alexis Rieniets, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Rieniets; parents Louie and Freida Schur; and siblings Ethelyn Peterson, Frances Sheldon, Agnes Griffeth, and Leroy Schur.

   Memorials are preferred to the Arthur Cemetery, P.O. Box 174 – Arthur, ND 58006.

   Funeral Service: Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

   Burial: Arthur Cemetery, Arthur, ND.
