Morris Pyle Obituary

Martin Morris Pyle passed away on May 7th at home in Fargo, ND. Morris was born on February 29, 1936 to Esther (Anderson) and Walter Pyle in Ortonville, MN.  He attended school in Ortonville through the 7th grade and moved to West Fargo, ND in 1949, graduating from WF High in 1954.  Morris received a full scholarship to attend Harvard University and attended one year.  He served in the US Army stationed in Vint Hill Farm Station, Virginia.  He returned to West Fargo, working in construction and for the Leo Lumber Company in Fargo.   He met and married Ann Fie in 1964 while building pole barns near Lisbon, ND. They lived in Minneapolis, MN, Mobridge, SD, and Sandy, UT, for a short period of time in their early years of marriage before returning to West Fargo. Morris completed his undergraduate degree at NDSU and began selling real estate in the early 70’s, which remained his life’s work for the next 45 years before fully retiring in 2018 due to health reasons.  After Ann’s death in 2007, Morris married Jeanette Senn of Wadena, MN, in 2010.  They continued to live in Moorhead and Fargo.

Morris was a proud West Fargo resident and supporter for many years, serving on the city council in the 1970’s.  He moved to Moorhead in 1979, working for Eid-co Homes in sales, and then eventually as a Broker for Century 21 Hallmark for several years in the 80’s.  He sold real estate with Remax Legacy Realty most recently.

His interests over the years included fishing, camping, NDSU football, spontaneous road trips, and cars. He enjoyed computers and technology and was always seeking the latest in technology. He even took up square dancing for a while in his 70’s.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette; brother Palmer (Becky) of Martinsburg, WV; his children, Richard (Faye) of West Fargo, ND, Elaine of Moorhead, MN; a granddaughter Samantha (Michael) and a grandson Matthew.  He was preceded in death by his parents and Ann Pyle.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 12th at 10:00 am at Sts. Anne & Joachim Catholic Church followed by burial at Fargo National Veteran’s Cemetery.  The recording of the funeral service will be available at westfuneralhome.com.

The family would like to thank CHI Home Care and Hospice for their support and care.
