Mary Ellen "Mitzi" (Krueger) Ausk

Mary Ellen Ausk, 87, Chaffee, ND died on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Mary Ellen Krueger was born June 13, 1932 at home in Casselton, ND to Gay and Augusta (Hanusch) Krueger. When she was 7, the family moved to West Fargo on Sheyenne Street. She graduated from L. E. Berger High School in 1951. She then went to work at the Union Stockyards where she met her future husband Harvey J. Ausk. They were married on Nov. 25, 1952 in West Fargo, and they made their home on a farm near Chaffee, ND.

Mary Ellen, known to many as “Mitzi” loved to paint ceramics, crochet and collect antiques. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers and canning. She loved her family very much.

She is survived by her sisters, Violet Beaton and Gayle (Rejean) Goodreau; three children, Steven (Theresa) Ausk and their children, Jacklyn, Chelsea and David who live on the home farm near Chaffee; Julie Ausk who lives near Chaffee on her own farm; and Lyle (Sue) Ausk and their daughter, Megan who live in Kindred, ND.

Mitzi was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey in 2013; and a brother, Richard Krueger.

Visitation: Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 from 6 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Funeral:  Friday at 11 AM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: St. Leo’s Catholic Cemetery, Casselton.
