Marvin R. Albert, 78, of West Fargo, ND, died Sunday, May 10th, 2026, at his family's home in Port Hadlock, WA surrounded by his family.
Marvin Rynold Albert was born October 27, 1947, near Erie, ND to Mabel (Covel) and Arnold R. Albert. He graduated from Erie high school in 1966. Marvin served with the Army National Guard for four years following high school. He then attended Hanson Mechanical Trade School in Fargo, ND. Marvin began work at Skelly Oil Company in Velva, ND, then at Hillsboro, ND, where he met the love of his life, Gaylene Jacobson. Marvin married Gaylene C. Jacobson on August 2nd, 1969, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, ND. They had two children, Kory and Karen.
Marvin worked at many grain elevators in ND including Gwinner, Mayville, Portland, and mostly at Prosper, ND from 1975 to 2010. Marvin had many hobbies. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. Marvin liked the outdoors, gardening and tinkering on lawnmowers, snowblowers or any small engine. He also enjoyed many trips to Rollag for the annual Steam Thresher’s reunion. Marvin enjoyed traveling for get-togethers with family and friends. He also loved to spend time with his grandkids.
Marvin is survived by a son, Kory (Trish) Albert, Port Hadlock, WA; a daughter, Karen Albert, Dilworth, MN; and five grandchildren, Caitlyn, Corey, Carissa, Cylee and Cailey Albert.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gaylene; and his siblings, Marilyn, Carolyn, and Melvin.
Visitation: Sunday, May 17th, 2026, from 4-6 pm, at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND, with a prayer service at 6 pm.
Funeral service: Monday, May 18th, 2026, at 2 pm, at Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church, Harwood, ND, with visitation one hour before the service.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Maple Sheyenne cemetery.
