Mark Ellenson Obituary

Mark David Ellenson, 73, passed away Friday, June 19, 2026, at his home in West Fargo. 

Mark was born September 30, 1952, at St. Ansgar’s Hospital in Moorhead, MN, son of David and Lillian (Christianson) Ellenson. He lived on a farm near Harwood, attended Harwood grade school until the age of 7 when the family moved to Fargo.  In Fargo, Mark attended Jefferson Elementary, Agassiz Junior High and graduated from Fargo South High in 1971. 

Following high school graduation, Mark worked in construction until entering the U.S. Navy.  He married Hazel (Peg) Foy and moved to Atlanta Georgia where he worked as a lineman at Ralston Purina until he was injured. Later was employed at pet store. After they divorced, Mark moved back to Fargo and was employed by Rott Keller as a salesman.  Mark recently retired from Dakota Wholesale. 

Mark’s hobbies were raising pigeons, hunting, fishing and was very fond of Weimaraner dogs. He was a member of the National Pigeon Association in Indiana. 

Surviving is his family: father David of Fargo; siblings Jerome (Virginia), West Fargo, Thomas (Debora), of Brown City MI, Peggy (Terry) Heiden, and Lori Ann (Dee) Schrank, both  Horace, ND; 10 nieces and nephews; and 15 great-grandnieces and nephews. 

 He was preceded in death by his mother:  Lillian Ellenson.

Memorial Service   2 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Fargo Elim Nursing Center, with visitation an hour before the service.

Burial:   Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND
