Marilyn Geske

   Marilyn Geske, 95, passed away peacefully at Kinder Care in West Fargo, ND, on April 19, 2025.

   Marilyn June (Davis) Geske was born December 2, 1929 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to William and Mayme (Brooks) Davis.

   Marilyn married Everett W. Geske on July 15, 1951 in Redwood Falls, MN. They had two children. Their first-born son, Steven, was born in 1952 and their daughter, Karen, was born in 1953. A dedicated wife and mother, Marilyn ensured her family was healthy and happy as they followed Everett’s assigned placements as a conservation officer with the Minnesota DNR.

   When Everett retired, they moved to a hobby farm in Rollag, MN. Marilyn moved to Fargo, and eventually West Fargo, after Everett passed in 1999. She moved to Kinder Care assisted living in January 2025.

   Marilyn was introduced to painting in the late 1960s by a local artist. Her natural talent was honed through correspondence courses, and she quickly learned the differences between shade, tone and tint. Marilyn was a founder and member of both the Cormorant Art Club and the Hjemkomst Art Group. Her painting of Everett in cowboy hat and denim jacket secured her signature status membership in the Red River Water Color Society. Her many ribbons and awards are a true tribute from her peers.

   Surviving her include her daughter Karen Schossow, West Fargo, ND; grandchildren Sarah (Geske) and Dave Kahl, Fairview, PA, Leah (Geske) and Joe Martinetti, West Fargo, ND, Jeffrey and Cynthia Geske, Moorhead, MN; great-grandchildren Dawson and Everett Kahl, Fairview, PA, Jamison and Jacob Martinetti, West Fargo, ND.

   Preceding Marilyn in death include her husband, Everett Geske, son Steven Geske, parents, and three siblings.

   Visitation: Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at Liberty Lutheran Brethren Church, Fargo, ND.

   Funeral Service: Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 1:30 pm at Liberty Lutheran Brethren Church, Fargo, ND.

   Interment: Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Rollag Lutheran Cemetery in Rollag, MN.
