Margaret "Peggy" Ford Obituary

Peggy Ford, 93, died peacefully on October 2, 2026 at Heather's House in Fargo, ND with family by her side.

Margaret Ann "Peggy" or "Peg" (Roden) Ford was born on December 29, 1932 to Elizabeth "Bessie" (Cruden) and Arthur J. Roden in Amenia, ND.  Peggy graduated from Amenia High School and moved to Fargo to work for Northwestern Bell.

Peg married Joseph Ford on August 12, 1952 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Casselton, ND. They lived in Jamestown, ND, moved to Maddock, ND and then back to Jamestown, ND before settling in Grand Forks, ND where they raised their five children.

She was co-chair of the St. Agnes Group of St. Mary's Altar Society. She was active in the Grand Forks Faculty Wives Club and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved to exercise at Center Court with her close friends. She was an avid walker, loved painting and making her deck beautiful with lots of flowers. She enjoyed going to ceramics, playing cards, doing puzzles and attending her kids and grandchildren's activities. Peg had a keen eye for decorating. When she hosted parties in her home or on her deck, it looked like something out of a Better Homes & Gardens magazine!

Peg had a passion for the holidays.  Her home was decorated beautifully inside and out for every season. She made Christmas magical. She spent the month of December baking, shopping, decorating and wrapping to make sure Christmas was special for her family. She set the most beautiful table for all holidays. Her children and grandchildren will hold these memories in their hearts forever.

Joseph passed away in 2001. She moved to Fargo ten years later.

Peg is survived by her children Joseph (Jill) Ford, Grand Forks, ND, Deborah Bement, Golden Valley, MN, Patricia (Jerry) Olson, Milnor, ND, Brenda Romick, Blaine, MN and Michael (Jill) Ford, Fargo, ND; grandchildren Chris (Hannah) Ford, Joe (Kristen) Ford, Kelly (Mike) Wilber, Amy Bement, Matt Olson, Mike Olson, Patrick (Amanda) Olson, Jordan (Kate) Olson, Jordan (Meghan) Romick, Jacob Romick, Abbey Romick, Jack Ford, Jada Ford; 14 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Lorraine Roden, Mary (Don) Sheldon, Claudette Ford; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Ford; parents Arthur and Bessie Roden; and siblings Laura Locket, Catherine Murrey, Arthur Roden and Bob Roden; brothers-in-law Bob Locket and John Ford; sister-in-law Ruth Roden.

Memorials can be sent to the Grand Forks Foundation for Education: C/O Joe & Peg Ford Basketball Scholarship Fund.
