Margaret Snyder

Margaret “Faye” Snyder, 89, of Soperton, GA,  formerly of the West Fargo, Fargo and Wyndmere, ND and died Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Serenity Place in Dublin, GA, under Hospice Care.

She was born January 11, 1931, near Milnor, ND, the daughter of Virgil and Lorena (Gilbert) Thomas.  Fay was raised in rural De Lamere/Mc Cloud, ND area,  graduating from DeLemere High School in 1950.  She married Donald Snyder, December 22, 1951, at First Methodist Church in Breckenridge, MN.  Faye and Donald lived in many states during his time in the Army and Navy. They lived in North Dakota, Washington, New Mexico, Louisiana and Georgia.  Following Donald’s death, she lived in West Fargo, then Fargo ND, attending NDSU majoring in Child Development before moving to Soperton, GA in 1998.

Faye was a pro at crocheting, making everything possible with a crochet hook along with afghans for all of her grandchildren, children, family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, oil painting, bingo, being outdoors and playing the organ.  Faye loved animals and had numerous dogs and cats. Most of all, her family was most important to her.

Left to share in her memory are sons:  Donald, Jr. “Gary”,    David (Donna),  in Georgia;  Thomas, Sr. (Gina),  in Missouri,  Robert, Sr. (Vandi) of West Fargo, ND;   daughters:  Trina “Kelly” (Steve) Kresckay and LorRae  “Lori” (Lee) Thigpen all in Georgia;  18 grandchildren;  27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Virgil and Loena Thomas; husband:  Donald Snyder; grandson:  Jamie Snyder and great-grandchildren;  Baby Kresckay, LeiLani Kresckay, Maecy Snyder, Kinley Snyder and Joseph Snyder;  brothers:  Louis,  Lyle and  Dennis Thomas;  sisters:  Evelyn Anderson and Diane Lanske.

Graveside service:  1 p.m.  Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at Elk Creek Cemetery, near Wyndmere.
