Marc Allen Hanson

Marc Allen Hanson (59) was born on October 11, 1961 in Minot, ND to Allen and Elaine Hanson. He died on August 20th, 2021 in Fargo, ND and entered Heaven’s glory. He grew up in Harwood, ND, and graduated from West Fargo High School. He attended Moorhead State University, and after eight years of trying to figure out what he wanted to pursue in life, graduated with a degree in international business.  His family wished he would have some type of medical degree with all those years of school.

A decade later, after he graduated from MSU, he fell in love with Valerie Raile, and they married in 1993. They enjoyed purchasing older homes that needed TLC so that Marc could exercise his skills in home projects. Marc loved doing wood working, home repairs, and landscaping projects. Any excuse to drive his tractor or ride the lawn mower was a good day for him.  He had a very analytical and methodical thought process. If you have experienced doing any kind of project with Marc, you know that frustration was all part of the experience.  Yet the outcome was very well done.

Marc worked for many different sales positions (selling cemetery plots, eggs, meat, and miscellaneous grocery products) before ending his career with Aflac Insurance and various other health supplemental companies.

Marc loved traveling with his family, and they avidly did so.  They had two daughters, Lauren and Emma. His two daughters were his pride and joy, and shared a very special bond.

If you knew him, he always had an infectious smile on his face, would love to talk for hours upon end (if you let him that is), and loved his family so incredibly much. Marc was involved with several ministry organizations throughout his lifetime. He had the biggest heart for the Lord, and wanted to share this joy with everyone he encountered.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie; his daughters, Lauren Hanson, Fargo, ND, and Emma Hanson, Fargo, ND; his sisters, Monica Spier, South St Paul, MN, Sheryl Hanson, Monmouth, OR, and Roxanne (Mitch) Mastre, Glyndon, MN.

Marc was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Elaine Hanson; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Spier.

Visitation:   5 pm - 7 pm Thursday, August 26, 2021, with a Prayer Service held at 7 pm, in Bethel Church, Fargo, ND

Funeral Service:  10:30 am Friday, August 27, 2021, in Bethel Church, Fargo, ND, with a reception to follow.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marc’s life.
