Lyle Jendro, 74, of West Fargo, passed away in his home on Saturday, April 17, 2021.
Lyle Alden Jendro was born in Fargo, N.D. on February 21, 1947, to Mark and Florence (Franke) Jendro. He grew up in Casselton, N.D., where he graduated from high school.
He then enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and worked as a jet mechanic. After his military service, he worked as a machinist until his retirement.
On September 25, 1971, he married Joyce Runholt at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. They became the parents of three daughters; Michelle, Jessica, and Kjirsty; and eventually 4 grandsons.
Lyle was involved in racing where he machined parts for the race cars and was also mechanic in the pit. He also helped build and drove the “Jumping Combine” with his friend Ernie Brookins. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, served on the West Fargo Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years, and was active in his church. He was a beloved husband and father.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Joyce of nearly 50 years; three daughters, Michelle (Justin) Perkins, Casselton, N.D., Jessica Bachmeier, West Fargo, and Kjirsty (Brad) Gillmore, Bakersfield, CA; 4 grandchildren, Zaine Perkins, Kaleb Erickson, Seth Erickson, and Samuel Bachmeier; and a brother, Loren (Carolyn) Jendro, Durbin, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a charity of the giver’s choice, or to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in West Fargo.
Memorial Service: Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, with visitation a half hour prior to the service.
Interment: Fargo National Cemetery, rural Harwood, N.D. at 2:00 p.m.
