Luella Betty Fetzer was born in Bismarck, ND February 23, 1933. Her father was Jacob Fetzer (called Jake), and her mother was Martha (Binder) Fetzer both of Tuttle, ND. She grew up amongst many close relatives in the Tuttle community.

She met the love of her life in the third grade when Tommy Shaw moved to Tuttle. Vernon Thomas Shaw and Luella were married June 19, 1949 in Tuttle, ND. They moved frequently during their years together with Tom’s career in the railroad. She always adjusted and made a lovely home. They enjoyed exploring the areas where they lived, and experienced life in North Dakota, Iowa, South Dakota, Tennessee, Washington, and Minnesota. Luella found strength and hope in her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior, especially in her final years as a widow living alone. She enjoyed watching Christian ministries on television and listening to the music. She loved animals, flowers, and enjoyed the beauty around her.
