Lucius (“Lou”) Marion Bennett, 85, of Fargo, ND passed away on September 12,2025 surrounded by his family. Lou grew up in Fairfax, SC. He proudly served in the Air Force for 20 years and when he retired, he continued his work with the National Weather Service for 18 years. He then spent 6 years with KFGO radio as he was a well-known weather forecaster in the Fargo area. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going fishing on Star Lake, cooking a variety of meals, and was an avid reader throughout his life.
Lou was predeceased by his parents, Heyward and Edna Bennett, and his son Timothy Bennett. He is survived by his wife Barbara Bennett, his daughters Stephanie (Rodney) Fritz, Erin (Anthony) Tran, and Laura (Austin Schmitz) Bennett, his grandchildren, Ruben (Kelly) Aguirre III, Emma (Dustin) Cleveland, and Xavier Tran, and many nephews, nieces, and other loved ones.
His celebration of life service will be held at West Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, with visitation from 12:00pm - 1:00pm, Service at 1:00pm with Coffee & Sandy’s Donuts to follow. There will be a private burial at Fargo National Cemetery at a later date for the immediate family.
