Lucille (Morth) Sherman

Lucille Sherman, 89, Casselton, ND passed away on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo, ND surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Ethos Hospice.

Lucille Elizabeth Morth was born April 10, 1936 at Fingal, ND to John and Anna Morth. She attended Fingal Public School and graduated in 1954. Lucille married Henry J. Sherman on June 19, 1956 at Fingal. They made their home in Fargo and moved back to Fingal in 1959 where he farmed. In 1966, they moved to Amenia, ND where Henry worked and Lucille raised the children and was a cook at the Central Cass School for 25 years before retiring. They moved to Casselton in 2011.

Lucille is survived by six children, Pamela (Jimmie) Wardlow, Wasilla, AK, Patrick Sherman, Fargo, Colleen (Mark) Johnson, Galesburg, ND, Scott (Sheila) Sherman, Casselton, LaDonna (Daniel) Nelson, Portland, ND and Lynn (Ron) Kolle, Detroit Lakes, MN; ten grandchildren, Cody O’Mary, Chance (Gina Rae) O’Mary, Heidi (Daniel) Olsen, Logan Sherman, Austin (Kimberly) Baril, Matthew Johnson, Megan (Tyler) Gravseth, Beau (Lindsey) Nelson, Shelby (Joey) Sherman and Sydney Sherman; great grandchildren, Cobin, Addison, Alexis, Kellan, Maelyn, Jaelyn, Olivia, Madelyn and Annabelle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years; infant son, Roman; son, Eugene; and nine siblings, Anne, Agnes, Mary Ann, Gertrude, Veronica, Cecelia, John, Magdalene and Barbara.

Visitation: Friday, Jan. 16, 2026 from 6 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Casselton.

Funeral Mass: Saturday, Jan. 17 at 10:30 AM at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Casselton with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Fingal.
