Linus Kensok, 96, Casselton, ND passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022 at Bethany on University in Fargo, ND.
Linus Martin Kensok was born Dec. 7, 1925 at Jamestown, ND to Theodore and Mary (Voss) Kensok. He grew up at Windsor, ND and later Chaffee, ND where he attended school. Linus was drafted into the US Army and served during WWII in the occupation of Japan. Upon discharge, he returned to North Dakota and began farming near Wheatland. He married Margaret Lux on Nov. 3, 1951 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Casselton. They made their home at Wheatland where they farmed for many years. He retired in 1987 but continued to help his sons Jack and Rick until age 90. They moved into Casselton in 2018.
He was a devoted husband, dad and grandpa. He cherished family time, enjoyed reading and playing cards. He was a member of the St. Leo’s Foresters, Couples Bible Study and Gill Township Bd. He was proud to have gone on the Honor Flight to Washington DC.
Linus is survived by his wife of 70 years, Margaret; 11 children, Leslie Cox of Hawley, MN, Lynn Kensok of Valley City, ND, Jeanne (Malcolm) Rodacker of Grand Forks, ND, Ann (Mike) Faught of Absaraka, ND, Rick Kensok of Wheatland, Mary Beth (Dan) Mathis of Tumwater, WA, Jack (Mary) Kensok of Casselton, Tracy (Joe) Sinner of Littleton, CO, Terry (Shari) Kensok of Wheatland, Bill (Amy) Kensok of West Fargo and Bobbi (Steve) Miller of Fargo; 29 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and brother, Paul (Maureen) of West Fargo.
Linus was preceded in death by sister, Everal (Arnold) Levos; brothers, Norbert (Janette) and Edward; daughter-in-law, Kate Kensok and son-in-law, Dale Cox.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Open Door Center in Valley City, ND or a charity of your choice.
Visitation: Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Casselton.
Funeral Mass: Monday, Jan. 17 at 11 AM at St. Leo’s Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior.
Burial: St. Leo’s Cemetery, Casselton.
