Leslie Howard Staples, born on December 31, 1954, in Chokio, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, in Fargo, North Dakota. Les lived a life marked by dedication to his work, a passion for agriculture, and a deep commitment to staying connected with those he cared about.
In 1981, Les moved to Harwood, North Dakota, where he began a remarkable 42-year career at Harwood Farmers Elevator, which later became CHS Inc. Les found immense joy in his work and cherished the relationships he built with customers who became lifelong friends. His enthusiasm for agriculture and relationships was evident in his work.
Outside of work, Les enjoyed woodworking and had a profound appreciation for agriculture. Les was known for his love of conversation and made it a priority to stay in touch with family and friends through phone calls and meaningful connections.Les had a deep love for his grandchildren, Evelynn and Dax. They would always bring a sparkle to his eyes, a testament to the joy they brought into his life.
Les's memory will be treasured by all who knew him. May his legacy of hard work, kindness, and connection bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
