Larry G. Mattson, 83, of Fargo, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, MN, surrounded by his family.
Larry Gene Mattson was born March 23, 1941, in Hamberg, North Dakota, the son of Roy and Alma (Flaskurad) Mattson. The family moved to Prosper, ND. He graduated from high school in Mapleton, ND, where he played basketball. Larry married his wife of 65 years, Marlys Jean Nodsle on May 29, 1959.
They lived in Fargo, Harwood and Hawley, MN. Larry was employed as a partsman at Corwin, was employed at Siouxland Dressed Beef, 25 years as a driver for Nabisco and a member of the teamsters. After he retired, he went to work as a janitor at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in West Fargo.
He enjoyed trips to Branson with Marlys, enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, watching races and football on TV.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sons-in-law: Mark Stone & John Shepler; siblings: Leroy Mattson, Mike (Cindy) Mattson, Shirley Mikula, Dona (Bill) Hampson, Sandra (Mick) Motchenbacher.
Funeral: 2 pm Saturday, December 7, 2024, at West Funeral Home in West Fargo, ND
Visitation: An hour prior
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Harwood, ND.
