Larry Davis

Larry Davis, age 74, of Fargo, ND, died Monday, August 28, 2023, at Sanford Hospice House, Fargo.

Larry Alton Davis was born at Searcy, Arkansas on February 5, 1949, the son of Freddie and Mamie Nell (Griggers) Davis.  He grew up in Augusta, AR, and graduated from Laura Conner High School.

Larry entered the US Air Force Sept 18, 1967, served one year in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged June 19, 1973, with the rank of Sargent.

He farmed for a time, was a self-employed truck driver, and later worked for the Casselton City Water Department. 

Larry was united in marriage to Diana Sturma on June 6, 1992, at Cavalier, ND. They lived at Wheatland, ND, until moving to Fargo, ND in December of 2021.  Diana died January 28, 2022, at her home due to cancer.

Larry had enjoyed racing as a hobby.

He is survived by two children Mike Davis, of Gulf Breeze, Florida and Lisa Roesch, Fargo, ND; five grandchildren: Keiffer, Chase, Isaac, Zoe, & Sulley; and his sister Sue Martin, Bebee, Arkansas. 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Diana, and a granddaughter, Chelsea.

He had requested memorials be sent to Cats Cradle Shelter, 9-9th St S., Fargo, ND  58103, or an animal shelter of donor's choice.

A Graveside Service, with Military Honors, will be held at Fargo National Cemetery, rural Harwood, ND, on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11 am.

Military Honors provided by the US Air Force Funeral Honors Team, and Fargo Memorial Honor Guard.
