Kim Arlene Baumgartner

Kim Arlene Baumgartner, 66, of West Fargo, ND, was called home on Monday July 28, 2025, with her loving family at her side.

Kim was born February 16, 1959, in Sturgeon Bay, WI, to Orville and Diane (Weberg) Erickson. She was one of 4 children. Growing up, Kim and her family lived throughout different parts of the US, such as Chicago, Texas, and Florida, before finally settling in West Fargo, where she graduated from high school in 1977. Kim was not only mom or “mama”, to her two daughters, but also grandma to 6 grandkids and most recently, great grandma to her great granddaughter. Kim met David in 2008 and later that year, were married, continuing to make their home in West Fargo. She worked many different jobs, most notably her time at Thom Linen and more recently with the West Fargo Schools Central Kitchen. A job she held until her retirement last year in 2024.

In her spare time Kim could be found participating in one of her many hobbies such as baking, playing bingo, doing puzzles, or crafting, especially diamond art. However, her biggest passion and love was for her family. She loved caring for those closest to her such as her husband David, father Orville and mother Diane, until her passing in 2016. She especially loved the time spent together as a family at the lake. 

Kim is survived by her husband David; daughters, Jodi (Jeremy) Bachmeier and Jamie Yokley. Grandkids, Austin, Jude, Isaiah, Molly, Joslyn, and Dawson; and great granddaughter, Amaiah. She is also survived by her father, Orville Erickson; sister, Kelli (Les) Muchow; brother Kraig Erickson; nephew, Justin (Christina), and brothers and sisters-in-law, Marie, Patty, Betty Lou (Jim), Bernie, Tillie, Jerry Lee and Juanita, along with many other family members and friends.

She is preceded in passing by her mother, Diane Erickson; sister, Kathi Klassen; her mother and father-in-law, Eugene and Barbara Baumgartner; along with her brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene, Evelyn, Frank, Daniel, Clarence, Charlie, Donna Mae and Tammy.

A service to remember and celebrate her life will be held Friday, August 1, 2025, at 10:00am at West Funeral Home in West Fargo, ND. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a Prayer Service starting at 7:00pm at the funeral home.
