Kermit Siegert, of Hunter, N.D., died Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo.
Kermit Robert Siegert was born May 10, 1934 in Lisbon, N.D., and was adopted by Fred and Frances Siegert on May 12, 1934 in Fargo, N.D. He attended school in Hunter and graduated high school from Page, N.D. He then enlisted in the Air National Guard and was an officer of the Teamsters in Fargo.
He married Carol McGunn on August 17, 1956 in Hunter. He later worked at J. I. Case and then the Cass-Clay Creamery for 44 years where he held several positions, lastly as warehouse foreman.
Kermit belonged to the Masonic Lodge, was a Cub Scout Den Leader, Boy Scout Leader, American Legion Baseball Coach, Luther League Advisor, and church volunteer. He enjoyed bowling, was an avid and skilled hunter, and was interested in World War II. He and his family enjoyed over 40 years at South Twin Lake. He was a kind and caring man, with an amazing sense of humor and common sense, and among other things, a good Democrat.
He is survived by his wife Carol; daughter, Vicki (Terry) Olson, Mandan, N.D.; son, Eric (Marla) Siegert, Pelican Rapids, Minn.; grandchildren, Cole (Leah) Benz, Chloe (fiancé Chris Miller) Benz, Molly (Eric Christensen) Siegert, Adam (Katie Ryka) Siegert, Emily Siegert; two great-grandchildren, Collins Carol Benz and Berk Benz; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild Rory Benz, and a sister and brother-in-law, Lavonne and Dick Brown.
A public visitation will be held at West Funeral Home, West Fargo on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 5-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at West Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation one hour prior. Please follow COVID-19 social distancing recommendations
Interment will be in the Hunter Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the giver’s choice.
