Jule Fredrickson Obituary

Jule J. Fredrickson 93, Mandan, ND formerly of West Fargo and Minot, ND passed away in Bismarck, ND due to Covid on September 16, 2020.

Jule was born in Sherbrook township near Finley, ND on February 17, 1927, the daughter of Christian and Mamie Jacobson. She graduated from Finley High School and Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND.

Jule worked in the office of The Store Without a Name in Fargo, the Selective Service in Finley, ND, and Patterson Dental Supply Company, Fargo.

While waiting for the city bus, Jule met the “love of her life,” George Fredrickson, after being introduced by a mutual friend. They were married March 7, 1949 and celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2019.

George and Jule purchased a lake cabin at Pelican Lake in 1952 and spent many years enjoying fishing, golfing, swimming and all the relatives and friends that visited.

In 1959, they moved to Minot when George, a pharmaceutical salesman, was transferred there.  Jule was a caring stay at home mother who kept busy raising their 2 children and attending all their activities. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, refinishing furniture, gardening, and crafts. Jule was always game to go shopping with friends and have lunch!

She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Minot where she belonged to a circle group, a church women’s group, served on church council, and taught Sunday School.  Jule also had fun working for many years at Norsk Hostfest where she helped do the buying and selling at the Import Shop.  She enjoyed her membership in the Criterion Club and Golden Oaks PTA as well.

In 2011 George and Jule lost their home in the Minot flood and they moved to West Fargo where they joined Lutheran Church of the Cross.

After George’s passing in 2019, Jule moved to Edgewood Mandan Assisted Living.

Jule will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kay Eslinger (George) of Bismarck, ND, and son, Dana Fredrickson (Lorie) of Onalaska, WI. In addition, grandsons Matt Eslinger (Kelsey), Greg Eslinger, Trenton Fredrickson (fiancee’ Alex), granddaughter Dr. Kyla Fredrickson and great grandsons Easton, Grant and Heath Eslinger.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Fredrickson Skauge.

She was preceded in death by her parents Christian and Mamie Jacobson, her husband, George, infant son, Blake Jay Fredrickson, her sisters Jeanne Jerstad and Virginia Thompson, and grandson, Jered Eslinger.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Second Story, #13  1st Ave. SW, Minot, ND 58701. This is a social club for those with disabilities that Jule volunteered at that was special to her. Memorials can also be sent to the Jered Eslinger Memorial Scholarship at U-Mary, 7500 University Dr., Bismarck, ND 58504. This scholarship goes to 2 nursing students each year.
