Judy (Grauman) Belter

Judy Belter passed away at Mayo Medical Center, Rochester, MN on Friday, July 24, 2020 with loved ones at her side.

Judy Ann Grauman was born April 20, 1948 to Walter and Margaret (Kieper) Grauman in Harvey, ND. Judy graduated from Fessenden High School and earned her degree in Home Economics at North Dakota State University in 1970. She married Wesley R. Belter on July 20, 1969 in Fessenden, ND. Judy taught Home Economics in Moorhead, MN and Sturgis, SD.

Judy is survived by her husband, Wes of fifty-one years,  three sons, Michael and granddaughters Kylie and Keira and their mother, Jennifer Walkinshaw of Reidsville, NC, Matthew (Rachael), granddaughter Nora and grandson Boaz of Indian Trail, NC,  and Mark (Bridget) and grandsons Nicholas, Luke, Max and granddaughter Grace of Casselton, ND. Brothers, Don (Liz) Grauman of Fargo, ND and Ray Grauman of Fessenden, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Neal Grauman.

Judy’s life was centered around her husband and family. She actively supported Wes in the family farming operation and made his 32 years of legislative service and 28 years of service in the United States Air Force and ND Air National Guard possible. Her love and support enabled them to fulfill their service to their family, church, community, state and country. Judy enjoyed reading, sewing, women’s fellowship, home-makers club, her grandchildren and especially baking for them.

Judy was blessed with a lung transplant June 27, 2015 after being on the transplant list for four years. No words can express our gratitude to the Mayo staff for their dedication in taking care of Judy with medical expertise and loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to Hospice of the RRV, New Life Center, both of Fargo, Bethel Moravian Church Cemetery fund, or a memorial of your choice.

Visitation: Friday, July 31, 2020 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.

Funeral: Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020 at 10 AM at Bethel Moravian Church, rural Leonard, ND with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Bethel Moravian Cemetery.
