Joy Taffe, age 93, formerly of West Fargo, ND, died Monday, May 18, 2020, at Eventide on 8th, Moorhead, MN.
Joy Darlene Moser was born November 8, 1926, to Robert and Doris (Wedemeyer) Moser at Waterloo, IA. She grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Graceville High School. On October 9, 1947, she married Thomas Taffe at Alexandria, MN. They made their home in West Fargo where Tom worked for Northwestern Bell for thirty-five years before retiring in 1983. Joy and Tom then moved to Osage, MN, and later to the Audubon, MN area. Then Tom needed more care, they returned to the FM area.
She was active in her church, Community Presbyterian, of West Fargo. Joy also volunteered at ARC and St. John’s Hospital. Together, she and Tom raised a foster child, Eddie, as their own son from infancy until his death at age nine.
Joy is survived by her son, Steven (Jan) of Custer, SD; daughter Sheryl (Ronald) Trottier of Park Rapids, MN; brothers, Darrel (Bonnie) Moser of Fort Collins, CO, Loren Moser, of Boise, ID, Merlin (Patricia) Moser of Alexandria, MN; her sister Donna (Dallas) Nelson of Prescot, AZ, four grandchildren: Amy Trottier, Joey Trottier, Steven Taffe, Zach Franzen; and four great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; foster son Eddie, brother Robert Moser, and sister-in-law, Violet Moser.
