John "Mr. O" Oldham

   John E. “Mr. O” Oldham, 75, West Fargo, ND passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at his home under the care of Ethos Hospice and surrounded by his family.

   John Edward Oldham was born on April 1, 1947 at Fargo, ND to Arthur and Marie (Olson) Oldham.  He graduated from Fargo Central High School in Fargo in 1965.  John enlisted in the US Navy and served from 1966 to 1969 when he was honorably discharged.  He returned to Fargo and began his career as a lineman for Northwestern Bell until he retired in 2000.  On May 20, 1983 he married Sandra Kippen.

   In his early days John enjoyed hunting and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycles.  He liked to spend time at the lake during the summers; especially with his Yellow Banana Boat and wood working.  He also spent time tinkering with radio controlled airplanes, but what was most enjoyable to John was spending time with family and friends, especially at the VFW where he could enjoy a beer, laugh and visit with  friends, and volunteer by cooking for the VFW spaghetti feed and make stew for other occasions.

   John is survived by his wife Sandy, of West Fargo, ND, his two sons: Matt (Tonya) and Daniel (Nicole), all of West Fargo, ND, three grandchildren: Brandon, Kaden, and Bridger, one brother Arthur Jerome (Cheryl) Oldham, of Payson, AZ, along with many nieces and nephews.

   John was preceded in death by his parents and step-father Kenneth Willits.

A Come and Go Celebration of Life will take place at West Funeral Home on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with Military Rites taking place at 3:00 PM.
