John Petersen

John Petersen, 20, of Hunter, ND, passed away, Saturday, May 30, 2020, near Hunter, ND.  

John William Petersen was born July 2, 1999 in Fargo, the son of Steven and Dawn Petersen.  He was raised in Hunter and graduated from Northern Cass in May of 2018. John worked with his parents at Steve Petersen Construction in Hunter and was currently attending computer technology classes at the NDSCS Fargo Campus.  He especially like being in Florida spending time at his family’s home in Palm Coast. 

John was a member of the Future Farmers of America during high school.  He enjoyed deep sea fishing in Florida, ice fishing, cooking, eating and online gaming with his friends on the computer he built. 

Above all John will be remembered for having the biggest heart, his care and love for his family, especially his nieces and nephews.  He enjoyed visiting and made many friendships. 

Grateful for having shared in his life, parents:  Steve and Dawn Petersen of Hunter;  sister:  Leigha Trnka of Mapleton;  nieces and nephews:  Jocelyn, Kaydence, Charlie and Eli Trnka;  grandparents:  Grace Petersen of Hunter;  Dave & Diane Bender of Ponte Vedra, FL; aunts and uncles:  Susan & Jerry Schritz and family of Menominee Falls, WI,  Scott & Carrie Petersen and family of Hunter,  Shari & Todd Viken and family of Hunter,  Dana (Matt Roberts) Morgan and Daxton of St. Augustine, FL;  great-aunt: Beva Hansen of Fargo and many other family members. 

John was preceded in death by grandfathers:  Milton Petersen & Dennis Ramstad and great-grandfather:  William Burkholder. 

Graveside Service for family and friends:  2 p.m.  Wednesday, June 3,  2020, at the Hunter Cemetery, Hunter, ND.  Please follow  Covid-19 Guidelines.
