John Kolrud, Jr.

   John E. Kolrud, 92, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at St. Catherine North in Fargo, N.D. surrounded by his loving wife and family.

   John was born on July 25, 1929 in Nome, N.D. to John Sr. and Anna Kolrud.  John served in the US Army during the Korean War.  Honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant First Class.  After his discharge, he moved to Valley City where he worked for Russell Miller Milling Company.  He was united in marriage to Arlene Borg.  To this union 5 children were born.  They moved to Fargo where John was employed by Super Valu Warehouse until he retired.

   He will be remembered for his hard work ethic, his love for singing, dancing, joke telling, and most importantly the love for his family.

   John is survived by his life partner Arlene of 67 years, brothers Dale (Bernise), and Harold, children: Jamie Williams, Cyndi Brainerd (Dan), Jeff Kolrud (Lisa), Mitch Kolrud (Jami), Greg Kolrud (Michelle); grandchildren: Corey and Travis Williams, Kaley Smith (Anthony), Dustin and Zach Brainerd, Kiera Nelson (Ryan), Krista French (Ryan), Nicole Kolrud, Jake, Amber, Tanya (Charlie), and Dylan Kolrud; great-grandchildren: Saige Williams, Arianna and Leylah Smith, Remi Romero, Brooklyn and Londyn Nelson, Jax and Jace French.

   John was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ruth Baarstad and Norma Bratland, and brothers Earl and Art.

 Burial: Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND.
