John Geringer

John Louis Geringer, 79, of Fargo, ND gained his angel wings on August 19th, 2026.

John was born to Ernest and Leota Geringer in Lake Williams, ND on December 29th, 1946. John was the youngest of 6 children. John grew up in Lake Williams, ND and later made his home in Fargo, ND. John and his family lived in different towns in North Dakota throughout his life. John always claimed Lake Williams his home.

Throughout his life John worked at different manufacturing facilities, drove school bus at Woodworth, ND Public School, drove a tow truck and was mechanically inclined. John and Judy owned a bar in Woodworth, ND called J&J Bar. When John lived in Williston, ND he worked in the oil fields.

John enjoyed everything that had to do with Motorsports (Racecars, Motorcycles, Snowmobiles). John even raced all 3 of them in competitions. John’s racecar number was 99. When John quit racing himself, he was always at the racetrack helping his 2 sons when they raced, and anyone else that needed help. John also helped throughout the week to get the racecar ready for the next competition. John never missed a race. John was always watching Motorsports on TV. John had a passion for old cars especially Javelins. John loved to go back to Lake Williams to play cards with his old friends.

John is survived by his wife Judy Geringer, son Jim (Val) Geringer, son Jason Geringer. Brother Paul (Audrey) Geringer, sister Helen (Jim) Lee, sister Mary Wellman. Grandchildren James, Dylan, Jeremy (Jami), Christina (Chuck). Great Grandchildren Jessa, Brittney (Aaron), Macie (Nick), Joey (Rylin), Matthew, Jax, Jayci, Jazlynn. Great Great Grandchildren Freya, Haydan, Blair, Adalyn, and many more nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Leota Geringer, brother Lawson Geringer, sister Agnes Brady, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and many cousins.

Visitation: Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
