John T. Caron

John T. Caron, age 73, of La Quinta, California, died January 2, 2023, in La Quinta. 

John Thomas Caron was born August 24, 1949, at Brooklyn, New York, the son of Thomas and Bernice Caron.  He entered the US Navy in February of 1969, and served 20 years, retiring as Chief Petty Officer in 1989.

He was united in marriage to Wanda (Stinar) Hille on October 17, 1998, at Port Hueneme, California.

John was a loving kind husband, father and grandpa.  Wherever he lived, he was friends with all the neighbors.   He just loved being around family and friends, and his favorite thing to do was to take them on boat rides.   John also enjoyed sharing stories with family & friends about his time in the Navy.  He would talk about all the places he had traveled in the world, and that he really enjoyed the different cultures. 

He is survived by his wife Wanda Caron of La Quinta, CA, his daughter Leslie Caron, Montague, NJ, two stepsons Travis (Kelsi) Hille, Mountain View, Utah and Jarik (Carla) Hille, Beaverton, OR; stepdaughter Angela (Derek) Lee, Aliso Viejo, CA; his grandchildren Dustin and Kylie Nipp of Montague, NJ and Colin and Camden Lee, Aliso Viejo, CA.  Also by his loyal companion dog/friend Moonpie, and numerous friends whom he considered it an honor to call “family”.

Graveside Service:   Friday May 5, 2023, at 2 pm in Holy Cross Cemetery – North, Fargo, ND.   The service will be officiated by Father Gary Luiten, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo, ND.

Military Honors:   US Navy Funeral Honors Team and Gilbert C. Grafton American Legion Post #2, Fargo.
