Joan Peggy Kohoutek

Joan "Peggy" Kohoutek, 93, Fargo, ND, died on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at SMP Health – St. Catherine North.

Peggy was born December 15, 1932, in Leonard, ND, to Stanley and Ada (Allen) Case. After graduating from Devil's Lake High School, she attended Jamestown College for two years. In 1953, she married Frank Leo Kohoutek, Jr. As a teacher's wife, she lived in several towns before settling in Wadena, MN, and later retiring to Fargo.

Peggy liked to travel, read, work crossword puzzles, and spend time outdoors. She appreciated the arts and expressed her creativity through sewing, needlepoint, and quilting.

She is survived by her husband, Frank, of Fargo, ND; four children: Linda of Grand Forks, ND; Frank III (Laurie) of Kokomo, IN; Kathleen of Ada, MN; and Karen Joan (Eric Wicklund) of Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren: Levon (Cassandra Rott) of Moorhead, MN; Stephen (Christine) of Kapolei, HI; Geoffrey of Fargo, ND; Daniel of Moorhead, MN; Caitlin (Hayden) Bertsch of Grand Forks, ND; Richard Farroh of Grand Forks, ND; and Christina (Brian) Goergen of Kokomo, IN; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert and Dale Case, and sisters Beverly String, Marilyn Rafferty, and Marjorie James.

The family would like to thank the staff of SMP Health – St. Catherine North for all their help over the last three years.

There will be a private family service at a later date.
