Joan Esser

   Joan Esser, 89, of Fargo, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Eventide Fargo.

   A. Joan Mickelson was born on April 14, 1936 in Fargo, ND, to Harold and Hulda (Peterson) Mickelson. She was raised in Wheatland, ND, where she graduated from high school in 1954. She then attended Interstate Business College in Fargo.

   On January 31, 1958, she married Roger L. Esser at First Lutheran Church in Fargo, where they were members for many years. They made their home in West Fargo and Fargo. Joan worked for Gate City Bank, and later Conmy and Feste Law Firm until her retirement. Joan and Roger moved to Eventide Fargo in 2024.

   Joan belonged to the knitting club at First Lutheran Church and enjoyed league bowling.

   Joan is survived by her husband, Roger, Fargo, daughter, Kari (John) Esser-Murph, Graham, WA; a granddaughter, Alexandra Sanders, a grandson, Cayden Sanders; and other extended family.

   She was preceded in death by her parents.

   A private graveside service will be held in 2026.
