Jerald “Jerry” Wayne Tibiatowski, 69, Fargo, ND passed away at his home Saturday, July 17, 2021 after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jerry was born on November 13, 1951 in Grand Forks, ND, where he grew up the son of Adolph Tibiatowski and Marian (Hill) Engie. Jerry owned and operated ‘A Transmission City’ in Grand Forks, ND and then Fargo, ND for over 40 years. He also coached youth hockey, jv volleyball, and High School Volleyball in Kindred and Wahpeton. He also raced stock cars for many years and played mens recreational hockey and volleyball.
Jerry believed in the power of positivity in every situation. He would tell everyone, including the kids he coached, “Be positive, deal with it, and move on”. He was always joking around with everyone he met. He was known for tweaking/pulling lightly on his grandkids ears. Most of all he was honest, selfless, and loved life. He was always kind, giving, encouraging, and had a heart of gold.
Jerry is survived by his children: Jeremy (Rachael) Tibiatowski, of Grand Forks, ND, Tammi (Tony) Cleem, of Cavalier, ND, Amanda Lovell (husband Scott), Portland, OR, Shane (Heather) Tibiatowski, of Phoenix, AZ, and Jeremy “Bud” Tibiatowski, of Moorhead, MN, 22 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Other survivors include his brothers, Galan (Dawn) Tibiatowski, of Portage, Manitoba and John Tibiatowski, of Grand Forks, ND, sisters Susie Collins, of Maple Valley, WA and Tracey (Steve) Harbinson, of Mukilteo, WA, and his significant other Princella and her daughters Keziah and Davilynn.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Terry, nephew Derreck Tibiatowski, and grandson Ryan Cleem.
